The 2023 Leaders Cup in Saint-Chamond

Inaugurated on September 17, the Arena Saint-Etienne Métropole (4,200 seats), located in the town of Saint-Chamond, will be the scene of the Leaders Cup 2023, between February 17 and 19, announced Friday the National League of basketball (LNB).

It will host in the form of a knockout tournament (quarter-finals, semi-finals, final) over three days the first eight of the first leg of Betclic Elite.

Successor to the Semaine des As, the Leaders Cup moved to Disneyland Paris in 2013. Not contested in 2021 (Covid-19 pandemic) and 2022 (LNB financing difficulties), the event, whose last winner is the JDA Dijon in 2020, will therefore find the regions, in this case the Loire and Saint-Chamond, whose club, the SCBVG (Saint-Chamond Basket Vallée du Gier), is a resident of Pro B and a permanent resident of the Arena.
