Taylor Swift beats the Beatles to double the UK chart for second week

Taylor Swift has beaten the Beatles to the top of the UK charts, scoring the double for a second consecutive week.

The US artist took on the challenge from the Arctic Monkeys last Friday (October 28) to reach No. 1, with new album ‘Midnights’ becoming the best-selling album of the year so far in the UK. In the United States, they became the first group in history to win 10 titles in BillboardChart of the 100 hottest songs of .

Earlier this week, it was reported that Swift would be challenged by the Beatles’ reissue of their classic ‘Revolver’ album for the top spot, but she held her ground to stay at number one on the album charts, with the song ‘Anti-Hero’ also scored a second week at the top of the singles chart.

Other new chart entries include Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s “Together In Vegas” at number three, Fred’s “Actual Life 3” at number four, and Arctic Monkeys’ “The Car” rounded out the top five.

Yesterday (November 4), Swift added eight more shows to her recently announced ‘The Eras Tour’ tour – see the new dates below and buy tickets here. The tour will run throughout next summer and will feature a host of special guests including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, Haim, Gayle, Gracie Abrams and Owenn.
