Surprise: The Strokes announce the release of a vinyl set!

Comprising 21 tracks on 10 vinyls, the “The Singles – Volume 01” box set announced by the five New Yorkers will be released on February 24, 2023 and will include tracks from the group’s first three albums as well as B-sides.

Without news of them since the evocation of a recording in the studios of Rick Rubin by the latter, information immediately tempered by Julian Casablancas, the Strokes offer us the best way to start the week. They have just announced the release, in early 2023, of a box set of 45 rpm.

On this set of ten vinyls, you will find original singles from the band’s first three studio albums, Is This It, Room On Fire and First Impressions of Earth released between 2001 and 2006, as well as rare B-sides from the same era. Each vinyl will be illustrated with the original cover of the singles.

Eminently rock

In addition to cults Last Nite Where The Modern Age excerpts from Is This It (2001), Reptilia Where 12:51 taken from Room on Fire (2003) or even Heart in a Cage featured on First Impressions of Earth (2006) this object, eminently rock, will be an opportunity to find titles “B-Sides“joyful. Take, for example, the excitement Hawaii, their duet with Regina Spektor Modern Girls & Old Fashion Menor a hovering version of their tube You Only Live Onceunder the title I’ll Try Anything Oncewhich appeared on the soundtrack of Sofia Coppola’s film, Somewhere.

Their last album The New Abnormalreleased in 2020, received the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album of 2021.
