Sachin Tendulkar’s Son Scores One Hundred Cents On Debut; Arjun Tendulkar, news, Ranji Trophy

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Sachin Tendulkar, scored a century on his first-class cricket debut on Wednesday, just like his Indian batting legend father did 34 years ago.

Playing for Goa, 23-year-old Arjun hit his ton with 177 deliveries on day two of the four-day game against Rajasthan in the national Ranji Trophy competition in India.

Sachin, the world’s all-time top scorer, also hit triple digits on his Ranji Trophy debut in December 1988.

Coming up to bat at number seven, Arjun was out for 120 at the Goa Cricket Association ground in Porvorim.

The southpaw hit 16 fours and two sixes in his 207-ball run. Arjun featured for India’s under-19 side and followed that up with a stint with Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians, although he never came off the bench.

He moved to Goa this season from Mumbai.

His father, who retired in 2013 after scoring 100 centuries, still enjoys godly status in cricket-crazed India.
