Rigoberto Uran isn’t done with professional cycling yet. At 35, the Colombian climber has decided to extend his contract with EF Education-EasyPost, he who was considering ending his career at the end of the 2022 season. “I still feel so much passion for what I do, my life is on the bike”, he declares in a press release from the American formation.
Uran is coming off an excellent Vuelta, where he won a stage and finished ninth overall. His regularity on the big tours is impressive: with the exception of 2015, he has finished each of the last eleven years in the top 10 of the Giro, the Tour or the Vuelta. He notably finished second in the Tour of Italy in 2013 with the Sky team and in 2014 with Quick-Step, then second in the Grande Boucle in 2017 in the colors of Cannondale, less than a minute from the winner Chris Froome. The Colombian has already made it known that he will continue to fight to be on the podium of a grand tour.
