A storm has hit the 20th arrondissement of Paris. A storm of incredible violence that blew the tiles, topped the trees, overturned the tables of the cafes, flooded the galleries of the metro, shook the spirits and much more. On the roof of the brand new Yvonne-Godard swimming pool, a young man is about to climb the balustrade. Andrea wants to put an end to a life of mourning and loneliness, but her project is interrupted by the appearance of a strange homeless woman. They begin to talk about life and death in a waltz as desperate as it is smiling.
The city as a backdrop
This sequence is one of three that make up the mosaic of Boulevard Davout. Three parts that the spectators, divided into three groups, discover simultaneously and, in fact, in different orders, strolling from one story to another near the Parisian artery which gives its name to the show.
The Bordeaux collective OS’O (for “On S’Organise”), made up of Roxane Brumachon, Bess Davies, Mathieu Ehrhard, Baptise Girard and Tom Linton, were, with the playwright Olivia Barron, inspired by the atmosphere of this district of eastern Paris, formerly known as the Zone. Joined by a few actors from the Laboratoire d’expression et de création (Labec), the actors of OS’O play with the urban space: a wasteland, a disused place, a street corner… The theater interferes in the nooks and crannies drawn by this urban decor. And it’s a whole imagination that opens then.
In this show of a singular genre, there is no wall in any room to separate reality from fiction, and it is with delight that the public slips into this fruitful porosity. Here, we are laying the first stone of an ambitious real estate project. There, Abdias, a young homeless man, goes to see an old man, an enigmatic retired doctor who offers a shared room… Always in ambush, the mystery, distilled in the sketches, summons ghosts who will linger in the arm of the spectator long after the performance, when this one, walking through the city, will suddenly surprise himself to look at it differently.
