Pig races, celebrity alpacas and more at Anna Bay Tavern Family Fun Day

ANNA Bay Tavern’s Family Fun Day returns on Sunday February 19 to raise funds for Country Hope, a charity in Riverina that supports sick children living in the bush.

As always, the pig races are a major highlight of the annual event, with the first race starting around 1pm.

Darren James of Anna Bay Tavern told News Of The Area: “We are entering the Riverina Redneck Rally and this is our fifth year. »

Last year the rally raised $568,000 and Anna Bay’s team, ‘The Coasties’, raised over $80,000 in the four years they were involved in the celebration. bush.

“We have had pig races in the past with the Anna Bay Tavern as our main fundraiser.

“We get a lot of support from local businesses and the local community supports us. »

Races start at 1 p.m. and end around 5 p.m., providing a great day of fun for the whole family.

“There will also be auctions, raffles, raffles, 100 clubs, lucky dips and Hephner the Alpaca will make an appearance on the day to help make the day memorable for the kids. »

The Coasties Redneck Rally team will again be driving a Toyota Camry wagon which was kindly donated by Burton Toyota for their first rally and it still performs great.

The family fun day will also raise funds and awareness of Beyond Blue.
