What sparked the feud?

The trouble started when Minaj, 39, wasn’t happy with the news she heard about the upcoming 65th GRAMMY Awards.

She was told that her hit song, Super Freaky Girl, would be dropped from the Rap category and placed in the running for best pop solo performance instead.

This caused Nicki to incorporate Latto into the mix, as she was not happy that her song was moved while Latto’s track Big Energy would remain in the hip-hop category.

What did Nicki Minaj say?

Nicki first took to Instagram Live to vent her frustrations in a video she has since posted to her account feed.

In the video, Nicki remarked, “Super Freaky Girl – where I just rapped to the song – was taken out of the Rap categories at the GRAMMYs, okay… and put in Pop.” »

Minaj continued, “If Super Freaky Girl is a pop song, what song is Big Energy? What kind is great energy? »

These comments prompted Latto to post on Twitter“Damn, I can’t win for losing…all these awards/names I can’t even celebrate”

How did the feud continue?

The feud quickly took a more personal route, with both women remarking on each other’s ages and exchanging harsh words back and forth.

Latto then created the hashtag “#40yroldbully” and called Nicki “meticulous with her shadow”.

She also shared direct messages between her and Nicki in which both women expressed their confusion over the situation.

Lato then tweeted, “With all that said, this wasn’t JUST a Grammy category.

“You’re funny asking me to defend your case knowing that our last conversation didn’t end on good terms.”

“You literally told me that I don’t ‘thrive’ and no one cares about my ‘little song’ otp lol @NICKIMINAJ. »

The dialogue took on a more serious note as they continued to discuss the various sexual assault allegations that have been leveled against Minaj’s family, with Latto accusing Nicki of being “married AND related to f**** rapists.” **”.

While Nicki has since seemed calmer with her Twitter account, it does not appear that the feud has been resolved.
