Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour… the world of music pays tribute to Jeff Beck

Rock legend Jeff Beck died on Tuesday, January 10 at the age of 78, leaving the music world in mourning. Mick Jagger, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Ronnie Wood, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Young and even Rod Stewart pay tribute to the virtuoso guitarist.

He will have marked the world of music as well as the greatest minds of British rockers and beyond: Jeff Beck, guitarist in particular of the group The Yardbirds, has just died and leaves an immense career behind him.

With the death of Jeff Beck, we have lost a wonderful man and one of the greatest guitarists in the world. He will be greatly missed by all of us”, says Rolling Stones icon Mick Jagger.

Jimmy Page, the leader of the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, reveals on his Instagram account: “The six-stringed warrior is no longer there to allow us to admire the charm he could weave around our mortal emotions. Jeff could turn purity into music. His technique was unique. His seemingly limitless imagination. Jeff, you will be missed by me and your millions of fans. Jeff Beck rest in peace.”

I am devastated by the news of the death of my friend and hero Jeff Beck, whose music has thrilled and inspired me and countless others for so many years.
My thoughts and Polly’s are with his lovely wife Sandra. He will forever remain in our hearts
”, writes the great David Gilmour, singer and guitarist of Pink Floyd and friend of Jeff Beck.

London singer Rod Stewart also reminisced about the good old days: “Jeff Beck was on another planet. He took Ronnie Wood and me to the United States in the late 1960s with his band, the Jeff Beck Group. And we haven’t looked back since. He was one of the rare guitarists who, when he played live, listened to me sing and answered me. Jeff, you were the best, mate. Thank you for everything.

Another major figure in British rock addresses a few words to Jeff Beck. “Now that Jeff is gone, I feel like one of my brothers has left this world, and I will miss him dearly. I send my deepest sympathy to Sandra, her family, and all those who loved her. I want to thank him for all our first days together in the Jeff Beck Group, conquering America”, writes with great sadness Ronnie Wood, bassist of the Jeff Beck Group, the Faces and then the Rolling Stones.

British pop singer Paul Young is also very touched by the disappearance of one of the legends of rock: “Devastated to learn of the sudden and tragic death of legendary guitarist Jeff Beck. He was loved by all who knew him; the guitarist of guitarists! My condolences to his family and friends.

I cannot express how saddened I am to hear that Jeff Beck has passed away. It is a terrible loss for his family, his friends and his many fans. It was such an honor to know Jeff and an incredible honor to have him featured on my most recent album, PatientNumber9,” shares British heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne, aka The Prince of Darkness.
