Facundo Pellistri made his competitive debut by Ten Hag on Tuesday night against Charlton, and he made the most of his late cameo.
The 21-year-old entered the fray in the 85th minute and had an instant impact, providing the assist for Marcus Rashfor’s goal to put the draw to bed.
Pellistri was previously linked with a move away from United, with his lack of playing time sparking speculation the Uruguay international was unlikely to get a glimpse of the future.
However, Ten Hag says the striker has a future at the club. Speaking after the game, he said: “I think Pellistri came in, he was lively, had a good assist with the Rashford finish.
“I see a future in him. You see it progressing. Against Everton (behind closed doors in training) I was happy with his performance, I was happy with him in the World Cup. Bravo, better, continue.
