Lizzo replaces Yeah Yeah Yeahs as ‘SNL’ musical guest » bbnworldnews.com/

NBC announced on Saturday (December 10) that Lizzo will replace previously announced artists Yeah Yeah Yeahs next weekend saturday night live as the final musical guest of 2022. When she joins host Austin Butler on the Dec. 17 episode, it will be the pop-rap star’s third time performing on the show.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs announced on their social media that they had to cancel as guitarist Nick Zinner is still recovering after contracting pneumonia last month. In addition to SNLthe band also pulled out of KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas Festival in Los Angeles on Saturday.

“As many of our fans know, Nick has had pneumonia for the past month and it has been a top to bottom recovery process,” read the Yeah Yeah Yeahs statement. “The band’s top priority is to support Nick through a full recovery, therefore, we had to pull out of our KROQ Acoustic Christmas commitments and saturday night live.

“YYY enjoyed the incredible highs of being supported on KROQ and the immense honor of being chosen to close SNLIn 2022, we are deeply grateful and, predictably, heartbroken, we cannot live up to these occasions,” the statement continued. “It’s been a tough week, and it’s been a tough year on the health front for us alongside so many artists who are committed to connecting with audiences in the midst of a pandemic. We send our love to our fans and supporters, thank you for your understanding and best wishes, it means the world to us. Wishing you a healthy and happy rest in 2022, we look forward to a strong comeback in 2023. Much love, Karen, Nick and Brian.
