John Fury restrained by security and facing Jake Paul’s friend and former opponent of Tommy Fury during the Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Deji press conference

It was supposed to be an entertaining press conference between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Deji, but people weren’t expecting John Fury to steal the show.

At London’s most iconic and historic boxing venue, York Hall, Mayweather Jr and Deji came face to face during their press conference ahead of their November 13 fight in Dubai.

Mayweather Jr has retired with an unbeaten professional record of 50-0, while Deji has lost three of his four fights so far

On the undercard, Tommy Fury, the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, battles Paul Bamba in hopes of taking his professional record to 9-0.

Joining Tommy on stage for the press conference was his father, John Fury, who is known as an unstable character and he lived up to his reputation.

As Tommy was talking about his upcoming fight with Bamba, he was interrupted by one of his former opponents and a teammate of Jake Paul, Anthony Taylor, who also features on the undercard against former Love Island star Jack Fincham.

Taylor suggested he deserved a rematch with Tommy and that they should fight on November 13 rather than Bamba.

John didn’t appreciate his son being interrupted, as he stood up, took off his jacket and started to approach Taylor, until, fortunately for the 5ft 7in American, security hold him back.

As for the main event, Deji doesn’t seem to have particularly high hopes for his matchup with Mayweather Jr, as he revealed his only ambition was to “land a punch”.

John Fury had to be restrained by security as he tried to confront Taylor

“I’m looking to land a punch,” Deji said, “that sure would be amazing against the best defensive fighter in the world.

“So I’m looking to have fun, I’m looking to showcase my skills and show what YouTubers can do.

“Having me out there with Floyd will only improve my boxing skills and push me higher up the ladder.

“Then I will continue to dominate the YouTube boxing scene after.

“Me fighting Floyd per se is a W, I’m not afraid of what’s to come. If you’re afraid of getting knocked out, you shouldn’t fight.
