Indonesian President and FIFA meet to improve security at the country’s stadiums

On Tuesday, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Indonesian President Joko Widodo met in Jakarta for a meeting on stadium security. The objective: to reassess the protective measures in the enclosures of the country, after the tragedy which occurred on October 1, where at least 131 people died after a crowd movement.

The Indonesian state has its sights set on the U20 World Cup, which it will organize next year (May 20 – June 11, 2023).
