Synopsis
Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista) move to Earth because they plan to surprise a sad Peter Quills (Chris Pratt) for Christmas with a present: Kevin Bacon.
Critical
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy TV episode to congratulate Christmas.
For 40 minutes, we follow the movie-like adventures of Drax and Mantis’ friends to kidnap Kevin Bacon.
Before, also picking up at its end, the story is introduced in Pla Grinch with traditional 2D animation.
The premise is absurd (without creatively taking advantage of the possible humor of such an absurd nature) and the execution lacks grace, on top of that they introduce a sentimental family secret.
There are references to “Footloose”, lots of little lights, dancing and snow can’t be missing.
The best thing is its soundtrack, playing Christmas songs from The Wombats, Smashing Pumpkins or Fountains Wayne and its power pop “I Want An Alien For Christmas”.
Bacon plays himself with the Texas band Old 97`s.
