Everything we know about Debra Messing and the Susan Sarandon feud

In 2016, Susan Sarandon turned heads when she gave an interview to MSNBC about the presidential election. The “Rocky Horror” heroine says a lot of people don’t think they can vote for Hillary Clinton. She then added: “Some people think that Donald Trump will bring revolution immediately if he comes in. »

Shortly after the interview, Debra Messing fired on Twitter on Sarandon’s comments, criticizing Sarandon’s failure to speak out against Trump and wondering if she would have the same opinion if she was poor, gay, Muslim or an immigrant. Additionally, Messing challenged the “crazy” idea that a Democrat should vote for Trump rather than Bernie Sanders. However, Sarandon, a Sanders supporter, later said she would “never vote for Trump.”

“Please clarify in the future”, Messing tweeted in response. “For the love of women if for no one else. Sarandon then doubled down, labeling Messing but addressing “passionately principled independents” who don’t necessarily agree with Clinton. Per People, Messing took it point by point, calling out Sarandon for not using her platform to advocate for marginalized groups.
