The Gonfreville-l’Orcher refinery was the last of the oil group still paralyzed. Last Wednesday, employees voted to continue the movement until November 2. The same day that the group had published record financial results, the strikers had renewed the strike considering that they had not obtained satisfaction on their demand for a 10% wage increase.
The CGT has not signed the majority agreement found between the other unions and management which provides for a salary increase of 7% and bonuses of up to €3,000.
