Emmerdale Actor Kevin Mathurin Addresses His Co-Star’s Sad Exit

Emmerdale Actor Kevin Mathurin has addressed his co-star Katherine Dow Blyton’s sad exit from the soap opera.

In October, Katherine’s character, Harriet Finch, tragically died after sustaining life-threatening injuries during the week-long Drama Storm as part of a 50th anniversary episode.

The hour-long special saw Harriet crash into a quad bike as she searched for Amelia Spencer in the stormand after lightning struck the wrecked vehicle, it exploded, leaving Harriet fatally injured.

Starring together in the soap, vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) and Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton), worked at the local church before Harriet returned to the police.

Addressing the sad departure of his former colleague and friend, Kevin said interior soap that he was just as surprised as the viewers saying, “It was a shock to me too!

“I enjoyed doing my scenes with Katherine and we worked well together, and I think the relationship between Charles and Harriet was really good,” he said of his co-star.

Although Kevin was shocked to see his friend walk out of the soap opera, he said the thrilling stunt-filled send-off was “awesome.”

speaking of her released after nine years on the soapKatherine said: “I will very much miss playing Harriet, even though I will definitely be wearing the police uniform!

“What I liked when I entered Emmerdale and what really made me want to play Harriet was because she was coming in as a vicar. I loved playing the vicar and the fact that she had flaws and was a little off.

“She had a sense of humor and I loved the character. I will miss her very much, but she is obviously with me. We are not too different. »

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on ITV Hub.
