Boombass, half of Cassius, announces the release of a solo EP

Musician Hubert Blanc-Francard alias Boombass, half of the former Cassius duo alongside Philippe Zdar, announces the release of his new EP “WWWIPE OUT” for February 24, 2023.

Influenced by video games, robots, special effects, imaginary worlds and musical instruments of all kinds, Hubert Blanc-Francard alias Boombass has just unveiled PPARADISEa second tangy and broken title which will appear on his new EP, scheduled for February 24th.

The French musician formed with his faithful and late friend Zdar one of the coolest electro duos in France. After the death of Philippe Zdar in June 2019, Hubert Blanc-Francard had no choice but to leave behind the Cassius project, emblem of the French Touch, to go solo.

A new adventure

Since then, the 54-year-old has released several singles, remixes and even a book, BoomBass. A story of the French Touchwhich he wrote for four years and which traces “30 years of music and adventures”. In December 2022, Boombass unveiled SSSTAND UP, the first title of his future EP. Today is the single PPARADISE which joins the journey with this first triple letter recognizable as that of the title of the EP, WWWIPE OUT.

He tells in a press release how he came up with the idea of this new hybrid title with robotic voices: “Looking carefully, we have all seen it at least once, paradise. That’s what the voice of PPARADISE wants to tell us, that it comes from there. The more I progressed on the music, the more I thought about the soundtrack of circuit video games of all kinds, those of the early 2000s. With pitched voices, a piano close to 90’s euro-dance on a tempo at 144 BPM, break beats and a TB303, I imagined the song dressing up the last race, with its victory giving access to its paradise. Rumor has it that by listening to the 3 minutes 17 seconds of the song several times in a row, there are those who would have had access to it.
